Garfield County COVID-19 summary

Case decreases, vaccination efforts for 65+, variant update for 2.15.21

Decrease in COVID-19 cases

Garfield County has experienced a decline in COVID cases. In mid-January, the health department was reporting forty or more cases per day. This past week, those numbers decreased to approximately six or more cases per day. Test positivity, incidence rate, and hospitalizations have also decreased. These decreases, along with increasing numbers of vaccinations, are celebratory measures, but caution still needs to be taken with mask wearing and social distancing, etc., until we can see that the numbers continue to stay down.

B.1.1.7 (UK) variant

There are five confirmed cases of the UK variant in Garfield County.
